Paint it forward Frederick County

I was recently called out to look at a property for a family that had sever water damage from the recent rains. She had a roof leak which caused sever interior damage to the ceilings of her daughters room. She told me her husband normally would fix the problem, but he is currently serving his second tour of duty in Afghanistan. After talking for a bit, she told me that she did not have the extra money on hand to cover the insurance deductible and wanted to see how much it would cost to have us fix the problem, she informed me that money was tight and was worried that she might not be able to afford the repairs and just wait till her husband returned home. After a few days of thinking about this, I told her that we would take care of the problem and when she was able to send me what she could not to worry about it, I told her it needs to be fixed before it gets worse and I would have a few of the guys out to fix help her out.

This experience is what gave me the idea for the paint it forward project, after talking with my employees and suppliers we decided that we could budget $10,000.00. Now I need your help, if you are or no someone that needs a hand, let us know, send us an email telling us about the family and the home repairs needed and we will see what we can do to lend a hand.

If you are nominating a family you know, please include their information (how many family members, ages) make sure to include their address and phone numbers so we can contact them if they are selected as this years winner.

In your email please include how many people are living in the home and ages and let us know about the family that will help in the selection process. (tell us their story) Tell us about the home or building and how we can help and if possible include a few pictures to help us see the property

Please remember, we are a painting company and our phones are a life line that allows us to offer a program like Paint it forward and if the phones are clogged with nominees we can not operate and will end up not being able to offer this wonderful program, so please remember, emails only

Annual entry deadline is July 4, 2011. A winner will be selected and announced on September 1, 2011

Only one family is chosen per year, we will contact the winning family in writing to let them know they have won and the person(s) that nominated them.

No redeemable for cash or materials, Painting/ carpentry and handyman services only, no exceptions, At this time entries are limited to residents of Frederick and Washington Counties in MD.
